4 things to know about the weather:

As we begin the second full week of March, it might be time to grab the allergy pills.
A nice stretch of mild and dry weather over the next three to four days will certainly wake up the pollinator plants and have you enjoying the additional hour of daylight after work and school.

Sunny skies Monday afternoon will allow most areas to climb well into the 60s. That's about 10° above the average high of 54°. Clear skies Monday night will lead to temperatures around 40° on Tuesday morning.
Reagan National Airport hasn't reached 70° since Nov. 18 but should get there this week. There's a small chance DCA could get there on Monday but a much better chance on Tuesday with a "less cold" start and a nearly cloudless sky.
The biggest challenge in the forecast this week will be how far south a cold front will pushed by high pressure over New York and New England. The forecast models disagree and our forecast highs will be very dependent on its position.
Temperatures to dip back into 60s before rain this weekend
Highs on Wednesday should still reach the low to mid-60s with a bit more cloud cover. If the front can make it as far south as Richmond, our wind will be coming in from the east and northeast.
That onshore wind, with ocean water temperatures only in the mid-40s, would keep us much cooler. But if the front stalls out closest to the DMV the chill would remain out on the Eastern Shore.
Our Thursday and Friday highs will either struggle to reach 60° or have a real chance to top 70°. Storm Team4 Meteorologist Chuck Bell will play it down the middle and forecast low to mid-60s for the end of the week, but that is a low confidence forecast.
Southerly winds should bring the warm air back by the weekend but with a chance of needed rain coming on Sunday.
