What a great weekend!
Great weather on both days. Wonderful charity walks on Saturday. A stellar Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday morning and a miracle finish for the Commanders on Sunday night.
A new week starts with a sense of optimism and more sunshine in the forecast. Our long, long stretch of dry weather (now almost four full weeks long, to be exact) will continue well into the upcoming week.
A freezing cold start for many Monday morning will turn into a sunny and cool afternoon. The return of a south wind will be the first step in a big warming trend. Highs will be near 65°.
Generally sunny days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will push afternoon highs to near 70° Tuesday, near 80° on Wednesday and perhaps as high as 82° on Thursday.

Of course, Thursday is Halloween, so the kids' costumes won't need any extra layers of insulation like in years past. D.C. has reached 80° or higher on Halloween only five times in the last 150 years! This upcoming Halloween looks to be the sixth on the list.
A cold front will pass through Friday morning, bringing at least a chance for some passing showers. Sunshine will return for the weekend with highs back near 65° on Saturday and Sunday.
So far, Election Day weather in D.C. looks to be mild and dry. Make it a great week!
