Dulles Airport reached 83° Thursday, setting a new record high for Halloween, and most of the area will be back near again 80° this afternoon.
Steady southwest winds and clouds overnight have held temperatures close to 70° so there is a chance we will set record-high minimum temperatures this morning. Nothing feels normal about 70° at sunrise on the first day of November.
A cold front will come through the area later this morning turning our southwest wind back around to the northwest, so plan for a breezy day all the way until early this evening.
There will be a chance for a quick, passing rain shower as the front passes but rain totals are not likely to exceed 0.10".
If we get missed by the rain our run of dry days, currently at 30, will go on into next week. The all-time record of 34 dry days in a row could easily be broken if Mother Nature fails to deliver on Friday.

Cooler weekend ahead
Clearing skies, plus cooler, drier air, will return temperatures to average for the weekend.
Saturday morning will be in the chilly mid-40s and there could be some scattered frost on Sunday morning for areas North and West of Dulles.
The warm air will return on Monday and afternoon highs will get back to around 80° next Tuesday and Wednesday.
