4 things to know about the weather:
- No break from the wind

Our area dodged the worst of the severe weather Wednesday but we will still be dealing with wind in its wake a while longer.
Thursday and the next several days will be quite breezy/blustery. A wind advisory is in effect for the area until midnight. After a cloudy start Thursday morning, the wind and the sunshine will return in the afternoon.

Plan for a chilly day with highs stuck in the 40s and northwest wind gusts approaching 50 mph at times. The gusty winds will continue into Thursday evening before slackening a bit after midnight.
Friday will start with temperatures near freezing but sunny skies and a steady west wind will get most areas in the mid-50s by the afternoon.
Cooler weekend but next week will be warmer
On the whole, the weekend will be alright.
Cloudy skies Saturday morning might deliver a drop or two of rain but Saturday afternoon will turn sunny and breezy with highs around 50°. Sunday will be the better half of the weekend with more sunshine, less wind and highs reaching the low 50s.
A much warmer pattern will take hold next week. Highs on Monday will return to the mid-60s and 70°+ weather is on the way for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. After our coldest winter in 10 years, next Tuesday's 70° will be the latest first 70° of the year since 2015.
What we really need is rain. Our current October into March period has been one of the 10 driest in the last 150 years of weather records in D.C.
