Wednesday was quite a day. Most of the area experienced a 25-30° drop in temperatures while picking up an inch or more of rain and wind gusts of 45 mph.
High pressure from Canada will settle into the area Thursday so there will be no more wild swings like that for a while.

Cold and dry will be the two words used for the forecast for the next three days. Thanks to a fairly persistent wind from the Northwest, Thursday will be the worst of it. Sunny skies will get temperatures to around 40° Thursday afternoon but the wind chills will remain below freezing.
The wind will die down Thursday night so temperatures will fall into the mid-20s on Friday morning and the upper 20s on Saturday morning. The pattern will stay dry for now and there will be more clouds around for Friday afternoon and Saturday.

The weekend's dry, cool temperatures
Our next rain chance is running a bit behind schedule. Instead of rain arriving Sunday afternoon, it's more likely to be nothing but a few sprinkles or showers until Monday morning.
There's not much agreement among the forecast models on how much or how long the rain lasts. Just know that the skies will be cloudy and temperatures will be higher (in the 50s) for the first part of next week.
