Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for D.C. and parts of Maryland including, Anne Arundel County, Calvert County, Prince George's County and Charles County until 6:45 p.m.

The last day of 2024 will include wet weather, mainly during the evening.

Tuesday, New Year's Eve, has an expected high of 60 degrees. A cold front will approach, and move through from the west. Most of Tuesday will be dry, and it will be sunny overall until the evening.

Clouds will increase, and showers will flow in the late afternoon through the evening. Most of the rain should be out as we ring in the new year at midnight.

As the front exits east, cooler air will pour in behind it. We will be back to sunshine on Wednesday with high temperatures near 50 degrees.

A look at the New Year's cold weather

Conditions are dry and cold for the end of the week. Highs this weekend will be in the 30s. Storm Team4 is watching the possibility for a wintry mix late Sunday through Monday. Stay with us for the very latest.
