4 things to know about the weather

We start with near-record highs Tuesday and Wednesday. The records are 85° both days and both are within reach. Plan for sunny skies to come along with this late-summer warmth.
The first of two cold fronts will come through on Wednesday night, with the second passing Saturday night. Neither front has much moisture to work with so rain chances will remain very low.
After being near 80° on Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will stay in the low to mid-60s on Thursday with a stiff northwest wind. The wind will relax for Thursday and Friday so afternoon highs will recover a bit with temperatures near 70° on Friday and the low 70s Saturday.

No rain in sight but cooler temperatures are returning
There are some signs of rain starting to show up in some of our long-range forecast models but there's no chance between Tuesday and early next week. The only thing to watch for now is some big temperature swings.
Sunday is race day for the Marine Corps Marathon and good running weather is expected. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. with temperatures in the low 40s.
Sunday afternoon will be sunny and cool with highs only reaching around 60°. The chill will last until next Monday before our pattern turns really warm once again. We might be close to 80° on Halloween!
