Storm Team4 Forecast: Chilly Saturday is the best day this weekend to go outside

Storm Team4 has the weather forecast for D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia

NBC Universal, Inc. Storm Team4 has the weather forecast.

4 things to know about the weather

  1. Saturday best day for outdoor activities!
  2. Cold dry start , Winds will be light.
  3. Wintry mix moves into the region from west to east Sunday
  4. Rain reaches the I-95 Corridor by noon. Rainy moments will impact the area through mid-week.

After temperatures hovering around freezing on Friday, Saturday will also be cold and bring sunny, decent weather to dash out for holiday shopping or a festive show.

If you have not completed any outdoor activities like putting up decorations or getting a tree, today is the pick of the weekend. Enjoy the abundant sunshine, light winds, and cold, dry conditions.

Rain is expected Sunday, but it should be dry as you head to services or brunch. After a storm system hits the mountains with snow, the D.C. area should prepare for rain in the afternoon, evening and overnight.

A few snowflakes could reach the region by early afternoon.

Next week looks mild and damp. High temperatures are expected to get back into the 50s — and even low 60s on Tuesday — but that mild weather comes with rain chances.
