Much like Wednesday, this Thursday and Friday will come with only limited amounts of sunshine but no chance for rain. Seasonably chilly air will be hanging around for now.
Highs this afternoon and again Friday will be in the mid-40s for most. Clouds will thicken as milder air begins to come our way for the weekend.

Periods of light rain will arrive late Friday evening and continue throughout the day Saturday. Even with the clouds and rain, temperatures on Saturday will steadily climb through the 40s and should get above 50° by Saturday evening. Rain totals on Saturday will be around 1/4" to 1/2".
Commanders game forecast
A surge of much warmer air will bring a soaking rain to the area on Sunday. South winds of around 15 mph all day will push temperatures above 60° with a steady rain falling for most of the day. If you are going to the Commanders game on Sunday night, bring your best rain gear. Gametime temperatures will be in the mid-50s.
The rain will linger into Monday morning but there should be a period of dry weather from Monday afternoon through about noontime on Tuesday, with highs in the mid/upper 50s both days.
New Year's forecast
Showers still look likely for New Year's Eve. A drier pattern will return for New Year's Day, followed by steadily falling temperatures. Highs should still be near 50° for New Year's Day. Then 40° for a high on the 2nd and 30s for highs from the 3rd, 4th and 5th.
