The answer was pretty clear. Fresh off a national championship, UConn star Paige Bueckers was first off the board when the Dallas Wings submitted their pick.
By doing so, Bueckers added to the list of Huskies who have been drafted to women's basketball's top league.
Fellow top prospects in LSU forward Aneesah Morrow and South Carolina guard Te-Hina Paopao also helped their respective colleges get a bump.

After the 2025 draft, UConn remained the college with the most WNBA draft picks. The Huskies have seen 50 prospects enter the big leagues, with Bueckers among the three in 2025. The number does not include the 1997 and 1998 WNBA Elite Drafts.
