In the third inning, Ali Aguilar singled to center field to drive home Haylie McCleney and Dejah Mulipola and put the Americans on the board early.
The U.S. women refused to give up the lead from there as Monica Abbott closed the game out in the seventh.

Abbott and Osterman have dominated the international competition from the mound and have not allowed a run in opening-round play so far. Osterman struck out nine over six innings in the first game, and Abbott threw nine strikeouts on 102 pitches against Canada to secure the Americans’ second straight one-hitter.
The U.S Olympic softball team will look to stay undefeated against Australia at 9:00 p.m. ET at the Yokohama Baseball Stadium.
