Puck Daddy's NHL opening day live blog

"The Rangers playing in Prague, but without Jagr, would be like going forward with the wedding while the groom is busy with other plans."

Oh, Larry Brooks of the NY Post. What a party pooper, even back in 2007. Jaromir Jagr isn't a Blueshirt any more, but the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning are still opening up the NHL season in the Czech capital. Hey, Petr Prucha's still there. Isn't he Czech-ular enough?

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Penguins open up their Eastern Conference title defense in Stockholm against the Ottawa Senators, whom they curb-stomped on the way to that title. The Senators have the lead in Swedes, 1-0.

The Rangers and Lightning play at noon today, and the Penguins and Senators face-off at 2:30 p.m. EDT. Puck Daddy's Sean Leahy will provide updates, analysis and live-bloggin' fun throughout the NHL's opening day. Bring the funny, as always.
