The Wizards have traded backup point guard Aaron Holiday to the Suns, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

In return, the Wizards received cash considerations from the Suns according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic. They also created a small trade exception as well.

The trade was first reported about half-an-hour before the deadline, just after another reported trade that included Montrezl Harrell going to Charlotte and Ish Smith coming to D.C. With Smith back in the mix, Holiday’s services were no longer needed.

Holiday was traded to Washington from Indiana in August of last year in the massive five-team deal that brought back six players for the Wizards. Holiday saw his minutes reduced as the season went along, though he started each of the team's last four games. In Washington, he averaged 6.1 points and 1.9 assists in 16.2 minutes per game. He played in 41 games and made 14 starts.

Washington was busy on deadline day and reportedly sent guard Spencer Dinwiddie and forward Davis Bertans for Kristaps Porzingis in a massive deal with Dallas

With Holiday off the roster, the Wizards have Smith and Raul Neto to play guard for the remainder of the season.
