Report: Wizards 'may not have the assets' to trade for Sabonis originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
For the Wizards fans hoping Washington will make a move for Pacers All-Star Domantas Sabonis before Thursday's trade deadline, don't hold your breath.
Washington's interest in the 25-year-old big man is real, but the Wizards likely don't have the capital to pull off a deal for Sabonis, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"Domantas Sabonis is another player Washington would love to get," Wojnarowski said on ESPN's NBA Today on Monday. "They may not have the assets to do that deal right now."
For the Wizards to land Sabonis, it would likely require a package featuring one of Washington's most recent first-rounders, such as Deni Avdija or Rui Hachimura, along with Thomas Bryant and multiple draft picks. There's no telling if that package would be enough for the Pacers to part with Sabonis, either.
Sabonis, a two-time All-Star, leads Indiana in points per game (18.9) and rebounds per game (12.1). His 34 double-doubles are the third-most in the NBA this season, trailing only Nikola Jokic and Rudy Gobert.
