WATCH: Juan Soto Celebrates 22nd Birthday With Family and Champagne

What a difference a year makes.

Last year, Juan Soto was bringing in his 21st birthday in Nationals Park as Washington fans serenaded the young slugger ahead of Game 3 of the World Series (yes, we too are surprised that was only a year ago). This weekend, Soto celebrated his 22nd birthday in a much more modest fashion.

Still, at least Soto can celebrate his big day on his actual birthday, unlike last year. Remember, Soto needed to focus his efforts on helping the Nationals win a few more games in the World Series against the Astros even after turning the legal drinking age of 21 (we're sure he was OK with the tradeoff though).

This year, the champagne was in full flow with Soto celebrating with family as he posted on his Instagram story.

A quick rundown of what Soto has accomplished before his 22nd birthday: Not only did he help with some timely and powerful hits for Washington's first World Series victory last year, but he followed that up with an NL batting title in a truncated 60-game season. He also has 69 home runs to his name and led the MLB in several offensive categories this season, including offensive WAR (2.9), slugging (.695), adjusted OPS+ (212), and on-base percentage (.490).

And he's only just getting started.
