Washington Football vs. Ravens: Must-see moments from the 2nd half originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The first half of the local matchup between the Washington Football Team and the Baltimore Ravens went as expected, with the Ravens jumping out to a 21-10 lead.
The second half featured much of the same, as Baltimore picked up a 31-17 victory. Here are the top moments from the last 30 minutes for both sides.
1. Mark Andrews...again.
The tight end has been a focal point of Baltimore's offense, even catching a touchdown in the first half. Washington seemed to not get the memo, however, as they once again left Andrews open early in the third quarter. The Ravens took advantage, as Jackson found Andrews for a 22-yard score.
For Andrews, it was his fourth career game with two touchdown receptions. For Washington, it was the first points allowed in the third quarter all season.
2. No dice for Washington
Despite moving down the field thanks to a solid mix of short and intemerdiate passes from Dwayne Haskins, Washington's offense fell apart when it reached the redzone. Haskins took a bad sack on first-and-goal that dropped Washington back 18 yards.
A few plays later, on fourth-and-goal, Haskins opted to throw the ball short of the endzone, leaving the team with a failed fourth down conversion and a large deficit with little time to turn it around.
3. Little insurance for Baltimore
Getting the ball back, the Ravens did a solid job of moving down the field to get some insurance. Justin Tucker did the rest, nailing a 46-yard field goal.
4. RGIII returns to FedExField
Many believed it was a possibility given the skill of both teams on Sunday, and in the fourth quarter Robert Griffin III did indeed make an appearance in the contest.
Griffin began his career in Washington as the No. 2 overall pick in 2012 and won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Injuries soon derailed his time of Washington, but he's been able to find a second home in Baltimore as Lamar Jackson's mentor.
On Sunday, it came full circle.
5. Kendall Fuller spoils the return
The return didn't go great for Griffin, however, as Fuller quickly ruined his fun. The cornerback made an incredible play on the ball for his second interception of the game.
6. Haskins shows off the arm and the legs
On the following drive off the turnover, Haskins finally did something he hadn't done almost all game: take a big shot downfield. It worked perfectly as the quarterback connected with Terry McLaurin for a 39-yard gain.
From there, Haskins ended up pushing forward on third-and-goal to make it a 31-17 game.
