Oddsmakers don't give WFT great chance of winning 2022 Super Bowl originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
If the Washington Football Team pulls out a Super Bowl win next season, oddsmakers are going to be among those who are the most surprised.
PointsBet sportsbook released futures odds for Super Bowl LVI and tabbed Washington at +6000, tied for the seventh-worst in the NFL. Washington did get better odds than the NFC East rival New York Giants but every other team beneath it finished with five wins or fewer in 2020.
Likely factoring into Washington’s low odds is the lack of certainty surrounding the quarterback position next season. Alex Smith is the only starting-caliber QB under contract and his future is unclear after his mobility was limited in his return from his major leg injury. Washington has been connected to players such as Deshaun Watson and Derek Carr in trade rumors, but no significant move appears imminent.
Here’s a look at PointsBet’s odds for all 32 teams to win the Super Bowl next year.
