The Washington Nationals have drafted outfielder Daylen Lile with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft.

Lile is a recent graduate of Trinity High School in Louisville, Ky. He signed to play college ball at the University of Louisville, but is expected to sign and forgo his college career.
Lile is known for being a solid left-handed batter, excellent at hitting for average. He stands at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Kentucky two years in a row. He was ranked No. 80 on the overall prospect list by MLB.com and No. 62 by Baseball America.
Per 24/7 Sports, “Lile finished with a .550 batting average with 61 hits in 111 at-bats. He scored 70 runs with 61 RBIs and finished with 12 doubles, 12 triples, and 18 home runs. He was also 11-for-11 on stolen bases and struck out just six times” this past season.
