Brunell, Randle-El served as QBs at Lions rookie minicamp originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Former Washington Football Team players Mark Brunell and Antwaan Randle-El were forced to jump into the fountain of youth this weekend.
With no quarterbacks on the Lions' roster eligible for rookie minicamp, both Brunell and Randle-El -- who are each assistants for Dan Campbell in Detroit -- played the role as the Lions signal-caller this past weekend.

The Lions have three quarterbacks currently under contract: Jared Goff, Tim Boyle and David Blough. All three are veterans, meaning none, of course, were eligible to participate in this past weekend's practices.
“I would say this: There’s been a lot of ice,” Campbell said, via ProFootballTalk and the Detroit Free Press. “A lot of icing after practice. Been a lot of heat pre-practice. But we’re getting it done. They look pretty good.”
Brunell, 50, who quarterbacked Washington for three seasons in the mid-2000s, last played in the NFL in 2011. Randle-El, 41, who was a wideout professionally but a college quarterback, played his last professional contest in 2010.
Brunell currently serves as Detroit's quarterbacks coach, while Randle-El was hired as the Lions receivers coach this past offseason -- his first professional coaching gig.
