John Thompson’s impact was profound, both on and off the basketball court. The latest tribute to the late Georgetown coach was seen on Tuesday night during an Elite 8 battle between South Carolina and Texas in the Div. I Women’s Basketball Tournament.
South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley, who has been with the Gamecocks since 2008, wore a T-shirt featuring Thompson’s likeness as she coached from the sideline.

Staley has paid respect to the Hoyas legend before, including a mourning tweet when Thompson passed away in August.
