As EA Sports rolls out its player ratings for Madden NFL 21 this week, a number of Washington players have been underwhelmed by their scores –– including Adrian Peterson.
Washington's starting running back charted a 78 rating in this year's rendition of Madden, tied for his lowest score in the past 14 years.
When seeing his rating, Peterson took to Twitter to respond by saying, "Feel free to boost me to a 99 overall when you're playing CPU. Nobody has to know."

Peterson's Madden 21 ranking is a major drop off from his past success with the game. In 2014, he reached a 99 rating and was honored as a cover athlete for the game. He also scored a 90 or above for nine consecutive years, which ended in his first season with Washington.
His rating did not earn him a spot in the team's 10 highest-rated players, which was leaked to Madden School on Monday. No Washington player rated higher than an 88, which was understandable following a 3-13 season. Three-time Pro Bowl offensive guard Brandon Scherff led the pack rated 87.

However, running back Derrius Guice cracked the top 10 with a rating of 81, despite only playing five games last season and missing 27 of 32 possible games in his first two years in the NFL due to three knee surgeries.
Peterson led the team with 898 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in 2019. In 15 games played, he averaged 4.3 yards per carry with three fumbles.
Standout wide receiver Terry McLaurin responded to his ranking as well earlier this week. After finishing 2019 just nine yards shy of the franchise's rookie receiving record, he earned only an 82 rating. Additionally, Chase Young will reportedly post the highest rookie rating of 80 this year.
