The Maryland Senate signed off on a $1.1 billion capital budget proposal.
Senators voted 39-7 Thursday to approve the bill, which now moves to the House of Delegates for consideration.
The plan calls for the state to spend $351.39 million to build and renovate schools, $3.78 million to acquire and design renovations of a post office in Annapolis, $38.67 million to buy new helicopters for the state police, and $2.5 million to design an expansion of the Baltimore Convention Center.
The General Assembly has until April 9 to pass the legislation and reconcile any differences in bills supported by the House and Senate
