Matt Damon will do anything to nail a part. He dangeously deprived himself of food for his "Courage Under Fire" role and years later packed on the pounds for his memorable role in "The Informant."
But the famously baby-faced Damon is showing the telltale signs of his most significant method part to date -- the movie mustache.
Damon is going hirsute for Ethan and Joel Coen's "True Grit" which starts filming this spring in Austin and New Mexico.
"I didn't know I could grow one," Damon tells USA Today. "(My wife) Lucy went online and saw it and said, "What the (expletive) is that thing on his lip?' "
"I'm going into porn, finally," he joked.
Damon is going to need all the hair help he can get playing a Texas Ranger who teams up with Rooster Cogburn in the eagerly awaited remake of the movie made famous by John Wayne.
He'll play along Jeff Bridges, who showed his beard-growing prowess in "Crazy Heart."
