Woman Stabbed Grandmother to ‘Cut Demons Out,' Police Say

A woman accused of stabbing her grandmother multiple times did it to "cut the demons out of her," Anne Arundel County police say.

A relative who was not at the scene called police to report that an 82-year-old woman at a home on 2nd Street in Pasadena, Maryland, had been stabbed by her granddaughter multiple times Sunday morning.

When officers arrived, they found the injured woman and arrested 20-year-old Savanna Esperson Weaver without incident.

The victim was transported to the hospital, but has since been released.

Police say the suspect stabbed the victim to "cut the demons out of her."

Weaver was transported to the hospital for an evaluation. She will be charged with attempted murder and other related charges when she's released from the hospital.
