A woman was shot and killed near a school in Southeast D.C. Thursday afternoon.
Police were called to the 700 block of Atlantic Street SE about 3:30 p.m. and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body.
She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The scene was next to KIPP DC Legacy College Preparatory. It’s unclear if the victim had any connection to the school.
