BB or Pellet Gun Used to Shoot Out Car Windows on I-270: Police

Someone used a BB or pellet gun to damage several cars and a public bus and reportedly shoot out several car windows on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County, Maryland, police say.

Police announced they identified the weapon Saturday morning.

Police said the shootings happened on I-270 near Shady Grove Road about 8:10 p.m. Friday.

No injuries were reported, although several people were inside the cars when they were shot at.

A Montgomery County Ride On Bus and four passenger cars were hit, police said. All the vehicles were damaged on the drivers' side.

Three cars and the bus were on the north bound lanes when struck, according to police. One car was travelling in the south bound lanes of I-270, police said.

A woman reached out to News4 on Twitter and said her car was the fifth one shot at. Police have not confirmed that information.
