A Woodbridge, Virginia, woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say she struck a child in the head with a kitchen utensil.
The victim, an 8-year-old boy, told police that 47-year-old Cindy Ann Oatman threw objects at him while inside a home in the 2000 block of Hanson Lane. During the altercation, one of the objects, which police described only as a kitchen utensil, hit the boy in the head leaving a laceration.
Another family member arrived at the home and called 911.
Oatman has been charged with unlawful wounding. Police say Oatman is a known acquaintance of the victim, but did not comment further on that relationship.
