Check your Mega Millions ticket!
While no one in the D.C. area won the $636 million jackpot, two lucky people woke up millionaires.
Twenty $1 million tickets were sold in 15 states, including one in Annapolis, Md., and another in Belle, W. Va. Maryland. Lottery officials say the second-tier winning ticket was purchased at High's Dairy Store at 158 Mill Bottom Road. The store will receive $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The location where the West Virginia ticket was purchased will not be released for 24 hours.
To win $1 million in the Mega Millions, players must match five of the winning numbers, but not the Mega Ball.
Only two tickets matched all six numbers, netting the $636 million prize. One ticket was sold at a gift shop in San Jose, Calif., California Lottery spokesman Alex Traverso said. The other was sold at Gateway Newsstand in Atlanta, Georgia Lottery spokeswoman Tandi Reddick told NBC News. There were no details on the winners yet.
