D.C. Tunnel Boring Machine Surfaces

A massive machine that’s been digging a tunnel underneath the Anacostia River for two years has finally surfaced. Lady Bird has been digging the first portion of a 13-mile tunnel. The $2.6 billion tunnel project is meant to prevent stormwater runoff from entering the Anacostia. .
