Four people were injured after a tractor-trailer and pickup truck collided on the Capitol Beltway Saturday, authorities say.
The tractor-trailer collided with a Dodge Ram pickup truck on westbound Interstate 495 in College Park, Maryland, Maryland State Police said. The tractor-trailer overturned on the pickup truck and struck a concrete column that supports the Riggs Road bridge.
Four people involved in the accident were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, state police said.
The bridge had no structural damage, according to state police.
It is unknown what the tractor-trailer was carrying, but the hazmat support unit from the College Park Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene to clean up spilled fuel. The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m.
