Teen Convicted of Murder of Man Shot, Stabbed Outside Va. Restaurant

A jury found a teenager guilty of killing a man who was slashed and shot outside a restaurant in Manassas, Virginia, in 2017.

Dany Hernandez was convicted of first-degree murder.

Security camera video shows 25-year-old Wilfredo Guardado inside the restaurant where a gang member was watching him. When he went outside, two other gang members were waiting.

Prosecutors said Guardado was targeted because the killers believed he was in a rival gang. His family denies it.

A man in the parking lot of a McDonald's in the 9000 block of Centreville Road in Manassas called 911 after hearing shots fired about 1:10 a.m. that morning.

The witness said it took him a few minutes to find the victim, who was face down on the asphalt outside a diner next to the McDonald's.

A judge will sentence Hernandez because he was just 16 when the crime took place.
