Prince George’s police are searching for two men in the killing of a tire shop employee. News4’s Darcy Spencer reports the victim had been working in the U.S. for a few months to provide for his family overseas.

Two men are wanted for fatally shooting an employee of a tire shop in Capitol Heights, Maryland, police say.

Prince George's County police said the suspects shot 41-year-old Anthony Okoye inside the Ameritech Tire shop on Marblewood Avenue about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The men then took off in a dark-colored Mercedes sedan, police said.

Officers found Okoye suffering from gunshot wounds and he died a short time later at a hospital.

The business owner told News4 he believes the men involved were customers who had work done but didn’t want to pay.

Police are asking for the community's help in identifying the suspects, and they released photos of the men.

A close friend of Okoye told News4 he moved to the U.S. less than a year ago to provide for his family in Nigeria.

"Oh my God. I feel sick .. because I come from the same tribe in Nigeria with him," the friend said. "He's here to make money for his, to uplift his family."

"Don't be here in the middle of the night," one business owner told News4. "I mean we work here, but it's just Monday through Friday. So this is a street where vagrants and people come here to do whatever in the middle of the night."

Ameritech Tire is usually open 24 hours, but the owner said the store will close earlier for safety.
