Traffic was backed up for miles Wednesday morning and was still barely moving hours after a crash on the Capital Beltway's Outer Loop.
The crash involved an overturned pickup truck and two tractor-trailers.
At 6:30 a.m., an 8.5-mile backup was reported. By about 8 a.m., traffic was moving at just 3 mph on the Outer Loop from I-95 to I-270.
Drivers should consider taking the Intercounty Connector instead if possible.
In the immediate aftermath of the crash, all lanes of the Outer Loop and one lane of the Inner Loop were blocked.
