Storms Likely to Dampen Tuesday Evening Commute

Don't put your umbrella away just yet! Stormy weather is expected to dampen the Tuesday evening commute.

Tuesday morning will remain mostly dry, but rain and thunder chances will increase in the afternoon.

Storm Team4 meteorologist Chuck Bell says showers are likely before noon in areas south of the D.C. metro area while areas north of D.C. could see thunderstorms later in the day.

Wednesday will remain partly to mostly cloudy, with a lingering shower or two possible.

Thursday looks to be the sunniest and least humid day of the week.

But you'll need your umbrella again as the weekend approaches.

Friday will start dry, but there could be some late evening thundershowers. Significant rain chances remain in the forecast for both Saturday and Sunday. It's too early to call it a washout, but if you're planning any outdoor events Bell says you should have a back-up location in mind.
