Some Inaugural Ball Tickets to be Available on Web

The Presidential Inaugural Committee will make a limited number of tickets to The Inaugural Ball available via the web.

The tickets will cost $60. Anyone who wants a chance to buy them must sign up on a new website: www.2013pic.org. Or they can follow @ObamaInaugural on Twitter.

Those who sign up will receive an email notification when tickets become available with a link where they can request up to two tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, the inaugural committee said in a news release.

The site has no information about the tickets yet. Visitors to it are asked to leave their email address and zip code, then get a message asking users to "use the Facebook, Twitter, and email tools below to make sure your friends and family stay updated on everything they need to know about the inauguration."

"Don’t worry – we won’t hang on to any of the email addresses you use," the site reads.

“The President and Vice President’s second Inaugural will continue their commitment to giving Americans from across the country the chance to share in this celebration,” said PIC CEO Stephen J. Kerrigan in the press release.

The Inaugural Ball is one of two official Inaugural balls. It is held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
