Police arrested one man for two separate shootings and carjackings in Hyattsville, Maryland, on Saturday.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, crashed a car he previously stole in the 3900 block of Hamilton Street. He then tried to carjack someone in the parking lot at Driskell Park and shot them, according to a release from the City of Hyattsville Police Department.
That victim was taken to the hospital with severe injuries but is in stable condition.
He then allegedly fled the scene in the carjacked car and crashed less than a mile away on 36th Avenue and Farragut Street.

After the crash, police said he attempted to carjack another victim who struggled with the suspect. The victim and the suspect were both shot.
They were taken to the hospital with not life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody.
Police said they will arrest and charge the suspect once he is released from the hospital.
