A pedestrian was struck on the eastbound lane of I-66 this morning, according to Virginia State Police.
Police were called to the scene at 7 a.m., just west of Route 286/Fairfax County Parkway.
The pedestrian had "life-threatening injuries," said a state police spokeswoman.
Two lanes reopened by 8:05 a.m. but traffic is currently backed up for several miles.
