A woman was killed and a man is in critical condition after dozens of shots were fired outside a restaurant in Prince George’s County. News4’s Derrick Ward reports.
One woman was killed and a man was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning at a popular marina in Prince George’s County, according the United States Park Police.
Tania Vanessa Lopez, 36, and a 27-year-old man were shot outside the Proud Mary Restaurant around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.
Lopez died at the scene. The man was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Witnesses told Ward they heard approximately 30 shots and were surprised more people were not injured by the gunfire. The victims were found in the parking lot of the restaurant.
Ward said park police are following leads, but no arrests are pending. The U.S. Park Police has jurisdiction on the case because the marina’s restaurant sits on land that is part of the Fort Washington Park.
