A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted rape after police say he lured a 13-year-old girl into a pickup truck and assaulted her in Manassas, Virginia.
Sender Juventino Linares Rivera, of Manassas, is charged with aggravated sexual battery, abduction, carnal knowledge, attempted rape and attempted strangulation.
The girl was riding her bike when she stopped in the area of Hoadly Road and the Prince William Parkway in Manassas, Virginia, due to weather and exhaustion, Prince William County police said.
A man in a red truck drove up and offered the girl a ride, which she accepted, police said. He put her bike in the bed of the truck and drove the girl to a parking lot in the 5400 block of Hoadly Road where he sexually assaulted her.

The girl then got out of the truck, police said, and the man drove away with the bike still in the back. She was able to take picture of the truck as it departed.
"Without that photo, I'm not sure we would've had a resolution to this case, honestly," First Sgt. Jonathan Perok said.
The truck was described as a 2010-2015 Ford F-350, maroon or red in color with a silver front plow and a large salter in the bed, police said. The bicycle was a teal Huffy mountain bike.

Police used the information provided by the girl to track down the driver and locate the vehicle. It was parked, unoccupied, in the Manassas Commuter Lot, police said. Detectives interviewed the owner and determined they were not involved but were ultimately led to Linares Rivera.
"It's sad. It's sad that it's happening here. It's sad that it's happening in this community," Ingrid Cuellar, a resident of the area, told News4.
Linares Rivera is being held without bond. It is not clear if he has retained an attorney.
