Two men were killed and two were injured in Chantilly, Virginia, early Friday after a Ford Mustang hit a tree and rolled over, authorities said.

The driver of the Mustang was at the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and Tall Cedars Parkway, just south of Dulles International Airport, and heading east when the crash happened about 12:30 a.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said.

The 2023 Mustang left the road, hit a tree and then rolled, authorities said. It was the only car involved.

Two men who were passengers died, the sheriff's office said. Information about their identities has not been released.

The driver, 30-year-old Bijay Tamang, was charged with involuntary manslaughter, the sheriff's office said. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and said more charges are pending.

Tamang was taken to a hospital before officers took him to jail. It's unclear what injuries he suffered in the crash.

A third passenger was also injured. Authorities did not give further details about his injuries.

Tall Cedars Parkway was closed for 7.5 hours while police investigated.

The crash was not a surprise to some residents. They said crashes are common on that stretch of the parkway.

“This road… it should be safe,” Jordan Sherfey said. “I have kids. I don’t let them out because I’m so scared  they’re going to get hit on this road.”

Tamang, of Aldie, is being held in jail without bond.

Editor's Note: The sheriff's office previously stated the third passenger in the car who was hurt was a female, but later issued a correction and said they are male.
