Man Seriously Injured in Northeast DC House Fire

D.C. Fire and EMS responded to a call while on their way to another call in Northeast D.C., where they rescued a man from a burning home. News4’s Darcy Spencer has the exclusive interview.

Two men were rescued from a house fire in Northeast Washington on Saturday, after D.C. Fire and EMS said a basement blaze tore through a rowhouse.

One man was seriously injured in the blaze and had to be rescued from the second story of the home in the 400 block of 19th Street NE, D.C. Fire confirmed. The second man was rescued through the front door without any injuries.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. and was put out quickly, D.C. Fire said.
