More Gay, Lesbian Families Expected at Easter Egg Roll

White House reaches out to gay, lesbian organizations

D.C.'s been pretty good to gay and lesbian couples so far this week.

Not only did the D.C. Council vote to recognize gay marriages performed in other states, but a day after D.C. public school students received the largest number of tickets for the White House Easter Egg Roll in more than a century, the White House is reaching out to gay and lesbian families.

For the first time, the White House has provided Easter Egg Roll tickets to specific gay and lesbian organizations and asked them to distribute them to their supporters, families said.

Participation offers hope that they will have more support for their equal rights demands, families said.
