The 2016 Susan G. Komen Washington, D.C., Race for the Cure is set to begin on Saturday, May 7, and Metro wants to help those involved get to the event on time.
Metrorail will open two hours early, at 5 a.m., on Saturday, May 7, for the race. Race participants traveling to the start line should use the following stations:
- Metro Center (Red/Blue/Orange lines)
- Federal Triangle (Blue/Orange/Silver lines)
- Smithsonian (Blue/Orange/Silver lines)
- Archives (Green/Yellow line)
There are weekend services adjustments scheduled on the Red, Orange and Green lines that may affect travel on Saturday morning.
The race is a 5K starting at the National Mall. The opening ceremony begins at 7:30 a.m., and the start of the race is at 8 a.m.
