UPDATE: Charges against the accused family have been dropped.

Two Montgomery County Police officers were assaulted while breaking up an underage drinking party in Damascus last weekend.

According to a news release, officers responded to the 9400 block of Damascus Road just before midnight last Saturday. Officers reported spotting a keg and what appeared to be approximately 35 underage individuals drinking alcohol.

When officers tried to enter the home, the owners refused to let them inside.

Moments later, when one of the officers started removing the keg outside the home's basement, an individual from inside the home attempted to grab several cases of beer, and a struggle ensued. The officer was pulled inside while another party-goer slammed the door on his arm and attempted to grab his gun. A second officer attempted to help him and was also assaulted by a homeowner. At one point, officers utilized stun guns to contain the unruly party-goers.
