Maryland State Senator Prepares for First Deployment

Maryland State Sen. Will Smith of Montgomery County will have to leave the General Assembly 10 days early to go on a seven-month tour in Afghanistan with the U.S. Navy Reserves. He’ll leave behind his wife and 10 month-old daughter, but hopes to see her first steps before he leaves. News4’s Darcy Spencer reports.
