Maryland Sex Offender Accused of Violating Restrictions

A registered sex offender from Westminster, Maryland, faces charges that he violated his restrictions by entering a behavioral health clinic that also houses a daycare center.

Jerome Myers Jr., 25, was arrested Friday after he was seen at Villa Maria of Carroll County, a Catholic Charities operation, the Carroll County Times reported Tuesday.

An employee reported to police that Myers entered the building July 18, despite having been told by telephone a day earlier he would have to wait for approval to receive services because of the on-site daycare.

Myers has no home telephone listing, and his attorneys didn't immediately return calls from The Associated Press.

He was convicted last year of sexual abuse of a minor. His lifetime restrictions include a prohibition on knowingly entering property containing daycare centers.
