It may not be $800 million, but one person bought a Mega Millions ticket in Maryland and won $1 million in Friday night’s drawing.
The Mega Millions website said a ticket from New York won the jackpot of $165 million by matching the five numbers plus the Mega Million number. The winning numbers from the Jan. 8 drawing are 11, 39, 51, 57, and 75 with the Mega Million number of 2.
Two other tickets, one bought in Maryland and one bought in Texas, matched the five numbers but missed the bonus number. Those people won $1 million.
The Powerball drawing, currently worth $800 million, will take place Saturday night shortly before 11 p.m.
