A man who volunteered in music programs at two Northern Virginia schools is charged with production of child pornography, federal prosecutors announced Tuesday.
David Alexander Battle II worked for a private music company in Manassas and volunteered at Osbourn High School and Grace E. Metz Middle School in Manassas.
Manassas City Police arrested Battle, 23, after a search of his Manassas home in June. Federal prosecutors say local police found evidence of child pornography, including videos that appeared to involve infants and other pornography that involved young boys and girls.
Battle initially faced child pornography charges, but federal prosecutors got involved as the investigation continued. On Aug. 6, Battle was charged with production of child pornography.
Battle is being held while awaiting trial and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years if convicted.
