A man was fatally stabbed in downtown D.C. early Wednesday morning, police say.
The victim was not immediately identified, pending identification of his family.
The man was stabbed in the 600 block of 7th Street NW. Police responded about 1:30 a.m. to a report of a robbery in progress. When they arrived, they found a man with multiple stab wounds.
Medics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A homicide investigation is underway.
