Man Killed in Crash Involving Vehicle Previously Pursued by D.C. Police

D.C. Police are looking for two suspects who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash. Investigators say they were riding in a stolen Lexus that was involved in the crash. The teen who was driving the Lexus has been charged with second-degree murder. News4’s Derrick Ward reports.

A man died in a crash involving a vehicle pursued by police earlier Friday evening, according to D.C. police.

An officer spotted a Lexus reported carjacked earlier this week and started to pursue it but lost track of it, police said.

Police later came upon the vehicle in the 4200 block of East Capitol Street NE at Benning Road. It had been involved in a crash with three other vehicles, police said.

The speeding Lexus rearended a Nissan Altima, which spun into a tree, then struck a Honda Fit, police said. The Honda then struck a Ford Expedition.

The driver of the Nissan was rushed to a hospital, where he died, police said. He was identified as Kenneth Edward Morris Jr., 31, of southeast Washington.

No one else was hospitalized.

Three people ran from the Lexus, but police caught the driver, 17-year-old David Mclane of southeast Washington, police said. He was charged with murder.

The other two people in the Lexus escaped.
